Comments from the development team, vlog [07.02.2025]
Friends! We have purchased a domain and created a website for you, so that it would be easier for you to get acquainted with the activities of our server and our community. The development process was lengthy, this is only the beginning. At the moment, the site performs basic functions, such as a description of our regular events, a description of our activities, online players at the moment and server leaderboards. At the moment, the site is a business card site, on which you can use links to access all our services. I would like to express gratitude to our entire active community, without them we would not have reached this stage.
We are gradually improving our services - this site is no exception. We will refine it, add functionality. It was not easy to get to this stage, we encountered various difficulties. Some of the work is new to us, so everything is happening a little longer than we expected. We really hope for your support in this project.
We currently have several tasks in our plans: developing a YouTube channel, improving the work of services, marketing, forming a Discord community, content. At each stage, we will face many difficulties, but we will try to implement everything as efficiently as possible. At the moment, the team is working on content and filling, testing new events and entertainment.
History of development, relevance [07.02.2025]
Everyone knows that Project Zomboid has PVP. But how it works in reality - there is practically no way to check. The world map is too big to meet other players, and when you meet, you need to be ready for a fight, do you think so too? Training in PVP is a very interesting idea, based on this idea, the PVP arena was created.
The principle of operation is simple - enter /all tpPVP in the chat and bam! You are already in the PVP arena. Here you can train with friends, as everything is prepared for this. The map is small, weapons are lying around in all containers, all that remains is to choose which one to fight with. And when you die, having created a new character, you can enter tpPVP again and continue the battle!
We built the arena manually, using a brush tool. Placing all the tiles from the very beginning. After that, the teleportation algorithm was developed and the location was filled with weapons and ammo. The development process turned out to be lengthy, it lasted about 3 days, but we have never regretted it. At the moment, the PVP arena is in demand, people come to us to shoot from different servers. Thanks to it, some people found several bugs in the game, learned how to properly confront players and had a lot of fun. In this arena, the heart beats faster, because the opponents here are people.
History of development, relevance, operating principle [07.02.2025]
Our server has a leaderboard, become the most popular survivor on the server! The principle of operation is simple - data on survival time and kills is taken from your character. Then all this is sorted. To view the current leaderboard, you just need to enter "/all bk" or "/all bs" in the chat. You will see a table of the 5 best survivors on the server. To see where you are, just enter the command "/all mbk" or "/all mbs". It's simple, destroy as many dead people as possible and try to survive longer than anyone else!
You can check out the leaderboard right on our website. Just go to the "Classic" or "Hard" section and click "Leaders" on the page below. Will you be able to get into the top 1 on the server?
Yes, it was certainly difficult to implement without using mods. First of all, it was necessary to write a decoder of the character data, and then generate a script. It took more than a week to develop these tables. It was finalized, changed, and now you see it in the final format.
Project experience [07.02.2025]
This server appeared spontaneously, the owner launched it to play with friends, but suddenly people started coming to it. The server had to be closed with a password. As soon as a number of sessions were over, the server owner decided to launch it in public and leave it for a long time. So the first people started getting to the server, they were from different countries and with different interests. It didn't take long before a Discord server was created so that everyone could conveniently communicate and agree with each other about further game sessions.
A little later, Discord integration was connected, and the community grew with each month. Initially, the server had the same settings as Classic, but there was no loot respawn. When the loot completely ran out, newcomers stopped visiting the server, since it was impossible to survive. The entire community decided to restart the server from the beginning, but using mods.
The mod server lasted about 2 months. It had a very cool and unique idea, but it was not enough to implement the project. New people stopped appearing in the community at all, since most people still choose the classic version of the game, as the developers intended. The mod server was closed, the community's activities were suspended.
After some time, the server was reopened with the Classic Server prefix and the community began to grow again. Then we decided to test the idea with events and absolutely everyone liked this idea! We held more than one series of cool events and tests, changing Project Zomboid for different situations and conditions. The game reveals itself in full at these events!
